Angel Beats! 02

Hmm… I must say I like the OP of Angel Beats!. It’s piano-driven, with a heavy bassline, very catchy.

The Appearance of Beretta 92

Ep. 02 starts with the Battlefront needing to replenish supplies and get new weapons from the Guild, where they make their weapons. It is latter revealed that they create things by ‘replicating’ it with their memories. Which is an awesome concept, especially if we can do that in the real world. ;_;

The path to the Guild are littered with anti-Angel traps, which can be disabled at will by those at the Guild. There is a slight problem however…

The traps were, you know, NOT disabled.

The Angel has discovered the Guild, and with that cute, Terminator-like, determination is hell-bent on reaching Guild despite all the traps that were laid in between, which is of no problem considering her instant-regeneration.

The Battlefront members however, has no such luck.

Shit out of Luck, he was.

There are a number of traps here, from the classics such as rolling metal ball of doom down on a tight tunnel, rising water, falling ceiling and floors to Chamber of Laser Death.

Someone’s Watched Resident Evil.

With their numbers being cut down at every turn, the only ones remaining are, predictably, Yuri and Otonashi.

The Survivors.

And then, as the two reminisce about their fallen comrades, comes the HUGE DOWNER. I’m not going to mention what it is, just that it’s quite touching and sufficiently explains Yuri’s determination to fight. What it does is makes me rage. It’s not a fiery RAEGHATE that makes me want to break something, just a slow burn…

Speaking of fiery conflagration of destruction, episode 02 ends with a climax that Michael Bay would be proud of.

And yes, that’s the Guild.

All in all, an awesome episode. Bring on Episode 03!
